Students on the Year Zero Sound, Light and Live Event Technology and the Year Zero Broadcast Engineering and Live Event Technology were tasked to create a video to complement a 2 minute song as part of an assessment.
James Riddell rose to the challenge by capturing his own video footage (although success came at a price with a repair bill for windscreen damage!) and combined this with the very moving Adagio in D Minor by John Murphy. James spent time considering his story, framing his shots and effectively produced the final piece syncing together the audio and video. Within his finished production you will see the use of audio/video and software techniques which are discussed during module delivery.
The Year Zero programmes are designed to support students develop skills and knowledge for effective transition onto the degree. As well as taking part in modules relevant for the degree we also aim to solidify critical engineering skills in mathematics and research.
